In reflection: A look back at Operation Allies Refuge

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (AFNS) — August marks the first anniversary of Operation Allies Refuge and the evacuation of Afghan citizens from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. As the largest non-combatant evacuation operation in American history, the humanitarian mission saw more than 120,000 Afghan citizens assisted by Airmen and equipment during the operation.
