Internet makes debut at Vogelweh Library

On Jan. 20, ultra high speed Internet made its debut at the Vogelweh Library. To deliver the fastest connectivity and the maximum productivity, TKS provided technical expertise in the installation of a brand new optical-fiber data line with both down and upload speeds (synchronous) of up to 16MB/s.

The newly renovated library, located on Vogelweh in Bldg. 2059, is host to a collection of more than 25,000 “physical items,” and can now offer nearly unlimited virtual resources through TKS’s high speed connection to the World Wide Web, online data bases and edu academic resources.

The library is outfitted with two computer labs with more than 40 workstations that are also connected to an in-house printer network.

E-book readers and netbooks are also available on a loaner basis. Visitors can also bring their own laptop, iPad or a Wi-Fi enabled smartphone for high-speed Web access over the library’s wireless network.

If you need help finding just the right resource, count on the library’s knowledgeable staff to point you in the right direction.

A wealth of resources are available for students of all ages, from first grade to post-graduate. And if you just need to check your e-mail or Facebook page, you can do that too.
