Wendelinus market in Ramstein
Ramstein-Miesenbach holds its traditional Wendelinusmarkt 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Each year, on the fourth weekend in October, the local advertising association sponsors the market with vendors and an entertaining program to remind of its origin, an epidemic of the cattle in the 18th century. People prayed to Saint Wendelin, the saint of plague, to end the epidemic. About 100 exhibitors present arts, crafts and other merchandise in the center of town, which is closed to motorized traffic.
