It’s snow time

The winter season is upon us. It’s been cold and be assured, it’s going to snow.

KMC family housing building leaders, stairwell residents and townhouse residents are responsible for ensuring sidewalks are promptly and properly cleaned during and after each snowfall.

Areas of responsibility include sidewalks, driveways, steps, fire hydrants and in front of dumpsters and in-ground containers.

Clearing walkways before they are walked on will  the need for large amounts of grit. Contact your building leader for your snow removal assignment.
The snow is unfortunately accompanied by everyone’s foe – the cold.
Especially during winter months, please ensure that your exterior hoses are disconnected from your exterior faucets. You may not notice it now, but as soon as the temperatures rise above that freezing mark, frozen pipes will begin to thaw and broken pipes will begin to leak.

That leak and broken pipe is a mess and an expense that you do not want or need. Also, ensure your overhead garage doors are opened only to enter and depart the garage. Keeping your garage door closed will ensure that your house and water lines remain warm and freeze-proof.

For those residing in stairwell units, keep your stairwell entry doors closed. Your lower level neighbors will appreciate your consideration. Keep warm, keep safe.
