“Regional and homemade” is the motto of this year’s jelly market taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the House of Sustainability in Trippstadt, Johanniskreuz 1.

Visitors will experience the versatility of the biosphere reservation Palatinate forest/North Vosges consisting of fruit from the fields, gardens and vineyards.

Fall time is harvest time. Vendors are using different methods to catch, refine, combine and preserve the taste of various fruits, berries, nuts, and vegetables for the cold season. They will offer a diversified selection of sweet and spicy jellies, chutneys, vinegars, oils and liquors.

Visitors will find exotic Palatinate creations such as the cherry jam with black currant, autumn pumpkin chutney, fig marmalade with rum and fig mustard.

There also will be homemade vegetable sauces made of Palatinate tomatoes and pickled fruit as well as pesto, honey variations and black nuts. Also available will be Hugo jellies on fresh farmers’ bread, a fresh herbal mix to refine salads or sauces or a precious blossom salt.

Visitors can taste new wine from ecological cultivation combined with a crispy chestnut bratwurst or a vegetarian delicacy with vegetables and chickpeas.
