Kaiserslautern Military Community Center Corner

Contracted awarded for KMCC lounge

A recently awarded contract grants a local business owner control and management rights to the sports lounge area of the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center.
The contract, awarded April 27, provides Ramstein village-based concessionaire Andreas Hausmann the opportunity to hire staff, design the menu and program entertainment at the establishment owned by the 435th Services Squadron. Local national employees are expected to fill a range of customer service positions, including bartenders, cooks and servers.

“The new sports lounge is aimed at providing a relaxing atmosphere for transient personnel and shoppers,” said John Unpingco, 435th Services Squadron Business Operations Flight deputy chief. “It’s designed to provide the best mix of an American sports bar with the flair, food and beverage offerings of a German pub.”

The lounge will consist of seating for 263 and multiple televisions to broadcast worldwide sporting events. Wireless hotspots will also be available in the area.
The lounge is located on the upper level of the KMCC near the visiting quarters tower and is scheduled to open this summer.
