***image1***April 3, the GR-081st Cadet Corps of Kaiserslautern High School held their annual Awards Banquet at the Ramstein Officers’ Club.

In this social event, cadets participated in a commemoration for POW and MIA Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. Following the ceremony, Cadet Maj. Zachary Burdick presented an invocation.

Included in the many awards given was the Air Force Association Award. This award is the most difficult award to achieve in the Corps. Given the award was Cadet Maj. Curtis Singleton.

Some of the other awards given to cadets were the Retired Enlisted Association Award, given to Cadet Capt. Karly Pecua; the American Veterans Award, given to Cadet Airman 1st Class Cherie Adeus; the Principal Award, given to Cadet 2nd Lt. Jamilah Bailey; and the Outstanding Flight Award, given to Delta Flight.

It is important to hold an awards ceremony for cadets because it recognizes them for their accomplishments and achievements. The ceremony also allows the cadets to remember the certain things they, as individuals, accomplished.
