***image1***The Kingfish came out on top last weekend at their first home meet of 2006.

Despite the long Christmas break, many swimmers continued their training and it showed.  There were many more personal best times and championship qualifiers. Once the meet kicked off and the races began, there were some very close and exciting finishes. Many Kingfish swimmers were getting into the ‘zone’ and concentrating on their upcoming events as well as cheering on their teammates.

For some of the many swimmers who competed at the meet, this could have possibly been their last chance to qualify for championships, which will be held in Riccione, Italy in February. This was a large meet with over 250 swimmers combined.  Competitors came from Sigonella, Italy, also many Berlin swimmers were hosted by Kingfish families, this has been an ongoing tradition for the past few years and is a great time for all.

The Kingfish have one more home meet before they compete in their division championships at the end of the month.
