KMC Army unit wins major award

Visual Information Services Europe, 2nd Signal Brigade, Kleber Kaserne, won The Crystal Award of Excellence Jan. 15 for their production, “The Road to Bosnia.”
The award-winning video was produced to educate U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers and their family members about deployment to Bosnia.
The 15-minute production depicted training Soldiers undergo in the United States and Germany prior to deployment, and the living and working conditions they encounter in Bosnia. It also described the historical background of the region and why U.S. Soldiers were deployed to Bosina.
The video was requested by Headquarters, U.S. Army Europe, and was produced by Gary Hall, VISE producer.
Judges for this award are a group of communications professionals who founded The Communicator Awards, which is an annual international awards program recognizing excellence in the communication field. The Crystal Award of Excellence is the highest award from The Communicator Awards.
To win the award, VISE competed against commercial TV stations, cable companies, advertising agencies and major companies. Past award winners included such giants as CNN, ABC News, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, Bank of America, American Express, Hewlett Packard, March of Dimes, Boeing, Shell Oil and Kraft Foods.
