Closures

  • The KMC Housing Office and Furnishings Management Section will be closed Monday in observation of the holiday. Customer service hours will resume Tuesday.
  • The 86th Airlift Wing Judge Advocate Legal Office will have reduced manning Feb. 27. This might result in delays in services. For details, call the legal office at 480-5911 or 06371-47-5911.

Lane closure

Due to construction, traffic will be limited to one lane on Columbia Drive and California Avenue on Ramstein starting Monday for about six weeks.

Blood drive

The Armed Services Blood Program-Europe will be conducting the following blood drives:

  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at KMCC food court on Ramstein
  • Feb. 27: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Landstuhl Heaton Auditorium

Donations needed

The German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern will hold its annual Pfennig Bazaar March 3 to 5 in the event hall of the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau — Dinosaur Park. Donations of clothes, bed linens, toys, purses, small electrical appliances, household goods, paintings and books are needed for this traditional flea market. Furniture will not be accepted. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 2 at the event hall of the Gartenschau. in Kaiserslautern. SpouseFit

The Ramstein Spouse Academy will present SpouseFit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. The event includes networking, special guests and door prizes. Dress code is casual attire, such as jeans and yoga pants. Makeup is optional, tennis shoes are required. RSVP by today to mary.devitt@us.af.mil.

Prayer breakfast

Ramstein’s annual National Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for 8 a.m. March 13 at the Ramstein Officers’ Club, Suite 1. The event is free of charge and includes a buffet breakfast. Keynote speaker will be Archbishop Timothy Broglio, Archdiocese for the Military Service. This will be an interfaith event. For reservations no later than March 1, call 480-6148.

Workshop for retirees

The KMC Retiree Council, in conjunction with the 86th Airlift Wing Retiree Activities Office, will conduct a “What A Surviving Spouse Needs To Know” workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 11 on Ramstein, Bldg. 2402, the old passenger terminal. The workshop will go through the casualty notification procedures things retirees need to know and have in such an event. There will be short briefings from the legal office, casualty affairs office, retirement services office, Mortuary Affairs office, Survivor Outreach Services and Veterans Affairs. Retirees and/or spouses will be able to sit down with a counselor to go through the process and steps to prepare for such. Heroes, horses, hounds

Come learn about equine therapy and how service dogs support our military service members. This free retreat, presented by the TBI Clinic at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and Wounded Warrior Project, will be from noon to 4 p.m. March 18 at the Rothenberghof in Kaiserslautern. Support needed
