Closures

• The KMC Housing Office and Furnishings Management Section will close at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for training. Customer service hours will resume Thursday. Additionally, both will be closed Jan. 18 in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Customer service hours will resume Jan. 19. For additional information or assistance, call 489-6672.

• Chili’s Too, located in the KMCC, will be closed from Monday through Jan. 31 due to kitchen upgrades and renovation.

MLK observance event

The 86th Airlift Wing will sponsor a special Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. observance event from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Ramstein North Side Chapel. The guest speaker will be Chief Master Sgt. James Davis.

Donations needed

The German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern will hold its annual Pfennig Bazaar March 4 to 6 in the event hall of the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau. Donations of clothes, bed linens, toys, purses, small electrical appliances, household goods, paintings and books are needed for this traditional flea market. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon each Friday and Saturday in January and February at Hackstrasse 4 in Kaiserslautern. Audioguide for Landstuhl

Landstuhl offers a new way to get to know the old part of town: an audio tour through your smart phone or MP3 player with city map. Tours are offered in both English and German. Interested visitors have to download the corresponding audio files for the 23 stations of the tour from Landstuhl’s homepage, www.landstuhl.de/tourismus/altstadtrundgang.html. The tour offers interesting information about local tokens such as the Old Chapel and Villa Benzino as well as a time trip tracking the traces of Knight Franz von Sickingen. Biggest Loser registration

Register today for Southside Fitness Center’s Biggest Loser Challenge. This challenge is fromTuesday through April 5 with a finale on April 7 to announce the winners. Participants will earn points for class participation from the Aquatics Center, Health Promotions, Ramstein Outdoor Recreation and all KMC fitness centers.
