Closures

• In an effort to better serve the beneficiaries of the 86th Medical Group, the following is a forecast of clinic closures due to U.S. holidays and mandatory training days: Wednesday (Veterans Day); Thursday (MDG training day, closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.); Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving); Nov. 27 (Family Day); Dec. 10 (MDG training Day, closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.); Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve); Dec. 25 (Christmas); and Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve). This forecast will be amended when applicable. As the clinic improves its processes, they welcome customer feedback. To provide feedback, contact Maj. • The Ramstein Northside Fitness Center will close for renovations at noon Sunday through Nov. 13 and will reopen Nov. 14. In the meantime, the Ramstein Southside Fitness Center will expand its hours as follows: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday; and 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Normal business hours will resume Nov. 14.

• The KMC Housing Office and Furn-ishings Management Office will be closed Wednesday in observation of Veterans Day as well as Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving. The offices will also close at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 for an office function.

• The north half of Galaxy Avenue on Ramstein will experience road closures through Nov. 18 to repair portions of the roadway. Traffic will be detoured toward Maxwell and Harmon avenues. Slight traffic delays in the immediate area may be expected. Motorists should plan accordingly and exercise extreme caution due to proximity of heavy construction traffic.

Gate construction

The Ramstein East Gate will be under construction until approximately Nov. 26. During this time, only three lanes will be open; there will always be two inbound lanes and one outbound lane, except between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. when there will be one inbound lane and two outbound lanes. Drivers are highly encouraged to utilize the Ramstein West Gate and LVIS Gate as alternatives.

Free winter safety inspections

Free winter safety inspections will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Ramstein Auto Annex. Tire consultations are also free. Walk-ins are welcome.

Holiday greetings

American Forces Network camera crews will visit the KMC to record greetings that will run on stateside television networks during the holiday season. Service members and civilian employees from all branches of service, their family members and Department of Defense civilians are eligible to participate. A camera crew will record greetings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court. Service members recording greetings must be in uniform. Family members and spouses should come with their sponsors; however, if the military member is deployed or on temporary duty, his or her spouse and children may record a greeting.

CCAF graduation

The semi-annual Community College of the Air Force graduation ceremony with 244 warriors will be at 1 p.m. today in the Ramstein Officers’ Club. Mandatory graduation rehearsal for all graduates will also be held today at 9 a.m. in the same location. Graduates are to be in service dress uniform for both the rehearsal and for the graduation ceremony. For details, contact

Commissioning briefing

The Ramstein Education Center and Company Grade Officers’ Council will sponsor a commissioning town hall briefing from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the multi-purpose room of the Community Center Annex on Ramstein, Bldg. 411. Information on the various programs will be provided along with a panel of prior enlisted officers to share their experiences. Lady of Guadalupe Celebration

A celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Daenner Kaserne Chapel. The festivities will include prayer; the customary presentation of flowers; “Matachines,” dancers, for Our Lady; an English-language mass; and a potluck meal. A Spanish-language rosary beginning at 12:30 p.m. will precede the celebration. The celebration marks the most important Mexican feast day of the year. The entire KMC is welcome to participate. ROP Line updated

The Ramstein Out-Processing Line will be consolidating a phase 1 and 2 schedule into one briefing. The ROP briefing is designed to assist members with their transition from Ramstein to their new duty location. This briefing is most beneficial if members attend six months from their date of estimated return from overseas and/or at the time of assignment notification, whichever is earlier. ROP is held every Monday at 8:30 a.m. ROP is not held during shortened weeks due to a holiday or family day. No preregistration is required. Estate claims

Anyone with claims on or obligations to the estate of Sgt. Marvin Barbour of the 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery should contact the summary court officer, CPT Tory Hoyt, at 485-7172.

Sales in housing

Yard and garage sales in family housing are permitted on Saturdays only. Parking issues and disturbance to neighbors are reasons to terminate sales. Residents may not use signs to advertise sales anywhere within the KMC housing areas. For details, call Karen Carbon at 489-7108.
