CFC-O continues

The Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas, the annual workplace giving campaign for the five overseas combatant commands, will continue until Dec. 2. The campaign provides uniformed and civilian Department of Defense personnel serving overseas the opportunity to extend their service by supporting charitable causes of their choice. Office closures

The KMC Housing Office and Furnishings Management Section will close at 11 a.m. today due to a commander’s call. Customer service hours will resume Monday.

Kindergraves ceremony

The 86th Airlift Wing chaplain will dedicate and bless a symbolic gravesite within the kindergraves at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kaiserslautern cemetery near Daenner Kaserne. A grave marker will be emplaced for Gary Curie who was born and died Sept. 18, 1952, at the 495th Medical Group hospital in Frankfurt.

DFAS day for retirees

There will be a representative from Defense Finance Accounting System to serve retirees with DFAS-related issues from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 26 on Ramstein, Bldg. 2120, room 105. Little teeth, big smiles

The 86th Dental Squadron will sponsor a weekend clinic for children from 7:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 5 at the Ramstein Dental Clinic, Bldg. 301. There will be dental examinations, cleaning and education services for children up to 10 years old. For details, call the dental clinic at 479-2210 or 06371-46-2210.

DOD GTCC policy

Department of Defense policy is that the Government Travel Charge Card will be used by all DOD personnel to pay for all costs related to official government travel. Official travel is defined as “travel under official orders while performing duties pertaining to official government assignments such as temporary duty and permanent change of station.” Members are not authorized to use the Central Billing Account unless they are DOD personnel who have an application pending for the travel card, individuals traveling on an invitational travel order or authorization, and new appointees or recruits. Furthermore, it is the member’s responsibility to keep their GTC information updated in DTS and ensure the card is active prior to the CTO issuing airline tickets.

US Consular Outreach Day

A passport outreach day is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in Bldg. 2402 on Ramstein. Representatives will be on site to accept tourist passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications and to answer questions related to immigrant visas and social security. In addition, a Citizenship and Immigration Briefing will be held at the Hercules Theater from 10 to 11:30 a.m. On-site passport photo support will be available for $8, but it is recommended to obtain photos prior to the event to minimize wait time. Wearing eye glasses in passport photos is no longer permitted. The Ramstein, Kaiserslautern and Baumholder passport offices will be closed Oct. 26 and reopen Oct. 27 in order to fully support the event.

Retire in Germany Briefing

The next Retire in Germany Briefing conducted by the 86th Airlift Wing Retiree Activities Office will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 on Ramstein, Bldg. 2120, room 102. To attend the briefing you must sign up with the RAO by phone at 480-5486 or via email at 86aw.rao@us.af.mil.
