KMC Passport Outreach Day

by 786th Force Support Squadron

The U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt and the Ramstein and U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Passport Offices are scheduled to host a Passport Outreach Day April 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at building 2402 on Ramstein Air Base.

This event will serve as an outreach to provide the Kaiserslautern and Baumholder Military Communities with expedited service for passport applications prior to the summer travel season. Consulate representatives will be onsite to accept tourist passport and consular report of birth-abroad applications.  Representatives from the Federal Benefits Unit and Immigrant Visa Section will also be available to answer questions related to social security and immigrant visas.

The Ramstein and USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Passport Offices have detailed checklists for tourist passports and reports of birth-abroad on their websites to aid in filling out applications prior to the event.

For access to these documents, go to:

Please note the recent change in passport execution fees. The fee for a report of birth and tourist passport for a child is now $215 dollars. A tourist passport renewal for an adult is $110 dollars, and a tourist passport renewal for a minor under 16 is $115 dollars. Anyone over the age of 16 applying for the first time or replacing a lost adult passport must pay $145 dollars. Payment is due with the application and must be paid by money order or cashier check only (one for each application).

All services will be available on a walk-in basis, with the exception of birth registrations.  Please contact your servicing passport office to have your newborn’s documents reviewed and to schedule an appointment for birth registration. We are unable to accept birth registrations from walk-in customers who did not schedule an appointment at this event.

To process applications quickly, passport officials ask that clients come prepared with all original documents in order, copies of the documents and money order(s) or cashier check(s).  On-site passport photo support will be available at the cost of $8 dollars for six photos.  However, it is recommended to obtain photos prior to the event to minimize the waiting time.  Please remember, the wear of eye glasses in passport photos is no longer permitted.

Money orders to cover passport fees can be purchased by military ID card holders at the Ramstein Northside Post Office (cash or debit card only) or at servicing banking facilities prior to or on Outreach Day (on-site service is not available).  Please be advised that tourist passports must be turned in for cancellation and will be returned with the newly issued passport.

The Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, and Baumholder Passport Offices will be closed on April 11 and will reopen for regular service on April 12. For questions, further instructions or to schedule a birth registration appointment, send an email to 786fss.passports@us.af.mil (Air Force personnel), usarmy.rheinland-pfalz.imcom-europe.mbx.usag-r-p-passport@mail.mil (Kaiserslautern Army personnel) or usarmy.baumholder.id-europe.mbx.passport-and-id-office@mail.mil (Baumholder Army personnel) or visit your respective passport office.

Your local USO representatives will also be there to support the event by serving refreshments.
