KMC plans activities for Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated throughout the KMC now to Oct. 15.
Special events and activities to celebrate the history and traditions of the nation’s Hispanic people will be offered for KMC servicemembers and their families. 

Events
The Hispanic Heritage Committee, open to everyone, meets at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Pizza Gallerie in the Ramstein Community Center to discuss plans for Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Hispanic Heritage Committee will host “La Noche Blanca” (White Night) at the Ramstein Enlisted Club tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear white clothing, but it is not mandatory. Mexican Folklorico dancers will perform at the ROSC Welfare Bazaar Saturday at 10 a.m. 

Members of the Hispanic Heritage Club will have “Story Time in Spanish” for children at the Vogelweh Library from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sept. 26, and at the Ramstein Library from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 27.

The Mexican American Social Club is hosting a President Volunteer Service Award Ceremony Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Ramstein Community Center. Several awards will be given to KMC members, recognized for their volunteer service. The uniform for military members is service dress and semi-formal for civilians.
