» The Back to School Exceptional Family Member Program Fest will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at Pulaski Park. The fest will include free food, games and face-painting. » The Rheinland-Pfalz National Day Out Against Crime takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Pulaski Park. Learn about the importance of fighting crime and what you can do to support your local law enforcement team. This event features working dog demos, child ID kits, a vehicle tactical display, crime prevention programs and activity tables, free food (while supplies last) and more. » The Kaiserslautern West Pfalz Ski Club will hold its annual free pizza party from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Bistrorante Paradox located in the village of Ramstein-Miesenbach on Bahnhofstr. 2. The date published in last week’s KA was incorrect. The correct date is Sept. 2. The pizza party is open to all U.S. and international military, civilians, and family members in the KMC. » Recruitment for College Night Reps takes place Sept. 23 for those interested in coming out to represent their college or university. This event attracts more than 1,000 high school students, making it one of the largest military events in Europe. Individuals will provide information and materials and answer questions about their college or university. Registration deadline is Sept. 1. »  Non-Appropriated Funds Vehicle Auction will take place Sept. 1 to 15. Vehicles will be staged at the Pulaski Barracks Lemon Lot, the parking lot adjacent to the Pulaski Express gas station. Bids may be submitted at Pulaski Automotive Skills Center during opening hours. All bidders and purchasers must be in possession of a valid U.S. Army Europe license. Vehicles are sold as is; no warranties or guarantees included. Bids below the minimum asking price will not be considered. Winners do not need to be present to win. » Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. Sept. 19: Kick-off party at the pub with live band Borinkuba; Oct. 3: a Double Six Traditional Domino Tournament. Players play in pairs. Sign-up no later than Sept. 11. No fee to participate. Winning couple receives $200; Oct. 17: The winning couple in each dance category, salsa, bachata and merengue, receives $100. No fee to participate. Sign-ups will be held from 9 to 11 p.m. the night of the event.

» Old School Hip-Hop and R&B Party: 9 p.m. Sept. 12. Nothing but old-school favorites will be spun by disc jockey Big Money.

» Oktoberfest: Sept. 25 and 26. Free pretzels and specials with every purchase. Karaoke and disc jockey on both days. “Dirndls” and “Lederhosen,” Bavarian-style clothing, are encouraged but not required.

Baumholder Events

» Yappy Hour is from 4 to 6 p.m. each Saturday in August at the Rheinlander Convention Center outdoor area. Bring your furry friend to Tavern on the Rock’s Yappy Hour and you and your dog can enjoy games, a special session with the Outdoor Recreation dog trainer, a dog agility course and a complimentary dog treat. » A get “nabbed” event by Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers takes place Saturday. Whoever signs up to get “nabbed” will be taken to an unknown destination.
