Ugly Sweater Run: Tomorrow, runners and fashionistas unite for the first annual Ugly Sweater Run! Dust off your favorite ugly sweater and head to the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Event Center for what is sure to be a fun 5K. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Run begins at 10 a.m. Entrance fee is $7 and children under 12 are free! The first 100 participants will receive a t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to the first male, female, and child finishers. You must be wearing an ugly sweater to be eligible for prizes. Last Minute Mini Bazaar: Good news – there is still time to get your Christmas shopping done! Find unique European treasures at the Last Minute Mini Bazaar held in Heaton Hall Auditorium, Dec. 3 to 6. Stroller friendly and great for the entire family. Grapes and Graffiti at Kazabra Club: Join us for an unforgettable evening of friends, wine, beer, and painting, hosted by the Arts and Crafts program at Kazabra Club.  This adult only gathering is open to ID cardholder age 18 and above.  $35 per person covers all supplies for painting.  Beverages may be purchased separately from Kazabra Club, Dec. 6. All Winter White Party: Winter is here and Armstrong’s is ready to party! Celebrate the All Winter White Party by dressing to impress all in white on Dec. 8. DJ Cutty Tha Creator will be playing all genres of music rocking the party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with no cover charge. Big The Musical: Come to the holiday show at KMC OnStage Theater about the joys of childhood! BIG the Musical is an adaptation of the 1988 Tom Hanks film about a 12-year-old boy who wishes on a carnival machine to be bigger, in order to impress the object of his adolescent affections. His wish is granted and he grows up overnight. The play follows his journey as he copes with his new adulthood while hunting down the traveling carnival machine in order to wish himself back into his younger body. All shows will be at KMC OnStage Theater. Holiday Magic: Santa is coming to town! Be sure to join us Dec. 4 at Baumholder Headquarters at 5 p.m. for the official tree lighting ceremony where Santa himself will arrive. Follow jolly ol’ St. Nick as he drives off in the train leading the way to the Hall of Champions where he will officially open all activities walking down Candy Cane Lane to his chair where visits and photos are welcomed. Activities will include arts and crafts, children’s activities, food sales, train rides and of course, letters to and pictures with Santa. “Sew & Tell” classes: For a limited time, Baumholder Arts & Crafts Center is offering sewing classes. This is a unique opportunity to learn sewing techniques that can save you money and make your home more sustainables. Lisa will teach you to create fantastic eco-friendly household items that can be re-used time and time again and made with your favorite fabric and personal touch. Two separate classes will be offered per item. Friday classes are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday classes are 1 to 3 p.m. Items and dates are as follows: Dec. 7 and 8 – Passport Holders. Holiday Open House at the Arts & Crafts Center: On Dec. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m., get to know your neighborhood Arts & Crafts Center during our Holiday Open House.  Take pictures with Santa, then make easy photo prints with Christmas card options at the Photo Kiosk conveniently located in the Craft Store. Choose from a variety of ceramic Christmas ornaments to paint, or complete a variety of other DIY Christmas ornament crafts for the whole family. Build and decorate your own gingerbread house while supplies last. There will also be warm beverages and holiday treats on hand. No entrance or registration fee. Parent and Child Art Night Out: Join us for a night of painting with your kids. Have fun painting together for a night and take home a beautiful family keepsake to treasure forever! This parent and child painting class is designed for you and your child to have a night out together and have some fun. Absolutely NO painting skill is required! We will guide you throughout the whole process! $35.00 for one adult and one child age 5 to 18 (includes all supplies for painting). Bottled drinks & snack packs will be provided, Dec. 14.
