Events

» American-style haunted house and cemetery light show available for all who dare. Children 10 and older and adults can request a less-scary experience. Handmade cemetery props and tombstones will be animated by lights with Halloween music playing. The event is free. Any donations received will support the local USO and Landstuhl Orphanage. The cemetery light show will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 through 28, weather permitting. The haunted house times will be from: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29; 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 30; and 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Oct 31. Both events will be held at 48 Pirmannsgarten, Siegelbach. Limited residential parking. Overflow parking will be at the Siegelbach Zoo.

» The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Holiday Bazaar will take place Nov. 6 to 8 at the Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg, 237. Get your shopping finished before the holidays and enjoy a variety of treasures from various European vendors including wine, cheese, antique furniture, Polish pottery, paintings, candles, ornaments and more. » Hispanic Heritage Month: Latin dance competition: Saturday. The winning couple in each dance category (salsa, bachata and merengue) will receive $100. No fee to participate; sign-ups will be from 9 to 11 p.m. the night of the event.

» Not So Spooky Costume party: 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31. Family event features dance music, character meet and greet, candy stations and a light meal. Show off your costumes. » Teen Read Week takes place Monday through Oct. 24 at Baumholder Library. This weeklong program includes several different activities: Teens can design a bookmark based on their favorite book, quote or anything inspirational and enter it in the Bookmark Design contest; choose a library book with a face on the cover and take a comedic “selfie” to make a Book Face Portrait; and from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22, the library will host a “thriller” movie night in the lounge area.
