» Join the Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program for the Purple Gala to raise awareness about domestic violence. This year’s theme is “All people working together can end domestic abuse.” Speak up and be part of the solution. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Armstrong’s Club on Vogelweh Housing, Bldg. 1036. Come together for a great cause, hear inspirational speeches by local representatives and wear purple to promote domestic violence awareness. Semiformal dress is required, no military uniforms. » There will be a One Health Day event held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court. This is an educational event for the community provided by the public health community of the KMC. The event will feature educational displays and provide opportunities for the community to ask human and animal health-related questions. Come out and learn about ways to protect and improve you and your family’s health.

» The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Holiday Bazaar will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 5, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. This is the perfect opportunity to get your shopping finished before the holidays. » The Ramstein Chapel is accepting bids for the Ramstein Catholic religious education coordinator contract position from through Oct. 28. The contractor shall provide all personnel, labor, materials and transportation to provide nonpersonal service in support of the Ramstein Chapel for the Ramstein Catholic religious education director for grades six through eight and confirmation as located in the KMC. The contractor shall serve as the coordinator, teacher, facilitator and organizer of the religious education program. Documented evidence of the following is preferred but not required: a bachelor’s degree in theological studies or two years teaching experience in a Catholic religious education program. If not already an archdiocese for the Military Services Certified Catechist, the applicant will complete this certification within six months of accepting the contract. The bidder is subject to criminal history background checks and must complete a Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiries and Installation Records Check. The request for proposal and bid package can be picked up from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Thursday at the Ramstein North Chapel. Last day to submit applications is 4 p.m. Oct. 28. Interviews will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Ramstein North Chapel conference room. The contract will be awarded based on best value. Support Groups

» A sexual assault support group meets at 2 p.m. every Friday in the Family Readiness Room of the 39th Transportation Battalion, Bldg. 3214, third floor, on Kleber Kaserne. This is a therapy and behavioral health process group for survivors of sexual assault and rape that occurred in adulthood. » An Emergency Placement Care informational meeting takes place from 1 to 2 p.m. the third Wednesday of every month on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3210. Join Army Community Service for this informative discussion on becoming an EPC provider and learn about the program and its basic requirements. Classes and Training

» Sponsorship training will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3210. This course helps you fulfill the role as a sponsor for incoming personnel. Units sending students to training are required to preregister with Army Community Service to ensure that a unit-specific sign-in roster is available. Baumholder Events

» Better Opportunities for Single Service Members hosts a Halloween party at 7 p.m. Oct. 28. The night will feature Halloween-themed games, food and beverages, and a costume party.
