Mark your calendars for the 2018 Ramstein Bazaar

Mark your calendars — the 2018 Ramstein Bazaar is quickly approaching! Whether you’re new to the community and looking forward to your first bazaar or you’ve been coming to the bazaar for years, you won’t want to miss this four-day shopping event. With more than 125 vendors from around the world, there will be something for everyone at the 54th annual Ramstein Bazaar.

This year’s event will be held from Sept. 13 to Sept. 16 on the Ramstein Air Base flight line. This is a great opportunity for you to pick up some treasures here in Germany, especially since a percentage of every sale goes back to the Kaiserslautern Military Community. The 2017 bazaar raised more than $290,000 for scout troop projects, school activities, base events, and more. For example, the Rhineland-Pfalz Quilt Guild received funding to make baby quilts for the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Proceeds also went toward a Troop 166 Eagle Scout project to build a sensory room for Vogelweh Elementary School, and the 86th Medical Group nurses and med techs were also able to use bazaar funds for a local celebration of National Nurses Week.

During the bazaar, two hangars and a giant tent will be filled with one-of-a-kind items like pottery, antiques, rugs, furniture, wine, and more. Even though Christmas is still a few months away, this is the perfect chance to stock up on unique gifts for your family back home with plenty of time to ship them. While you’re at it, pick up a few things for yourself to enjoy – remember, a portion of every single sale will benefit the community.

After you’ve worked up an appetite with all that shopping, step outside to sample food from nearly 30 private organizations. Crowd favorites lumpia and bratwurst will be served alongside BBQ ribs, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and more. These amazing food vendors will be there throughout the bazaar so there’s plenty of time to try a little bit of everything.

Everyone is welcome to visit the bazaar but only DOD and NATO ID card holders with SOFA status can make purchases. If you’re bringing small children, be advised that Thursday and Friday are stroller days; on Saturday and Sunday, you will be asked to leave your strollers outside. All sales are in US dollars and can be made with cash, check, Visa, and MasterCard. Each time you buy something, you’ll be asked to sign a sheet of paper to ensure that money from every purchase goes back to the KMC.

The bazaar is an 86th Force Support Squadron event that is produced by the Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club (ROSC) and would not be possible without the help of hundreds of volunteers from the community.
