Civil Engineers’ Corner
A project to repair the asphalt on the perimeter road near Bldg. 2696 will continue until April 30.

A section of the road will be completely closed to traffic. Bldg. 2696 and the munitions area can only be reached from the west and the Hot-Cargo Pad can only be reached from the east.

Signs will be erected at prominent points to advise of the accessibility to the areas.
Work is being done by the 435th Civil Engineers Squadron Programs Flight.

First Sergeants’ Corner
How important is your squadron’s sponsorship program?
It has been said that the impression you form in the first seven to 10 days after your arrival will remain with you for your entire assignment.
So, I ask again, how important is sponsorship? Very!

Contact them early and do not rely just on e-mails. Find out about their needs and be available and responsive to their questions.

It sounds so simple, but a lot of sponsors fail to place much importance on their responsibilities.

Take it serious and make sure those you sponsor actually feel welcome.
And if you are sponsoring an Airman straight from tech school, remember, this is their first true impression of the Air Force.
