First Sergeants’ Corner
What does mission-ready actually mean? As a member of the U.S. Air Force, you are  directed to maintain the highest level of personal readiness. So what does that entail? First, you have to be technically ready. This can be accomplished by retaining the proper skill level and earning a CCAF degree. Second, you have to be physically ready. Not only should you pass your fitness assessment, but you should always strive to maintain excellent physical conditioning. Third, you have to be mentally ready. You need to be alert to negative changes in your mental welfare, as well as those of your co-workers. And finally, you have to be prepared for all deployments. In order to do this, you have to be technically, physically and mentally ready. See the connection?

Civil Engineers’ Corner
Ramstein’s West Gate canopy project is moving into the second phase of construction May 8. This includes work that closes two inbound lanes. The work is tentatively scheduled for completion by June 4. The 435th Security Forces will keep at least three inbound lanes open during the morning rush hour. Adjust your morning commute times as you will likely encounter some delays. As always, use caution in the work zone. We appreciate your patience during our progress and assure you we are doing the utmost to achieve earliest completion.
