First Sergeants’ Corner
Professional Organizations

There are a variety of professional organizations in the KMC to get involved with.
These organizations exist for the betterment of our force. They offer the unique opportunity to interface with all levels of leadership, and to network across peers.
Additionally, many of these organizations offer the opportunity to get involved in our local community through volunteerism and to represent the military in a positive light.

These professional organizations also work hard as a group at a variety of different causes that improve our active duty benefits, our retirement benefits, our veterans’ benefits and even our spouses and childrens’ benefits.

A few of the more active organizations in the KMC are:

• Air Force Sergeants’ Association – the only Air Force enlisted organization dedicated to the people behind the stripes. We continually fight for your hard-earned benefits and provide you with a strong voice on Capitol Hill.

• The Veterans of Foreign Wars – dedicated to supporting those who sacrifice so much for this country – veterans, servicemembers in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

• The Air Force Association – an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization promoting public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation.

• Noncommissioned Officer Association – remains a vital fraternal, benevolent, non-profit organization and acts as a conduit between the military and civilian communities in local areas and promotes positive community relations.

A professional organization is only as strong as its membership.
If you are not currently a member of a professional organization, consider becoming one. Get out there and get involved. You will be glad you did.
