Holiday refuse, recycling

Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, there will be no refuse pickup from Dec. 24 to 27 and again on Jan. 1. Extra dumpsters, however, will be located throughout Ramstein, Vogelweh, Kapaun and Landstuhl housing communities for recyclable paper (cardboard, wrapping paper) disposal only. Do not place household garbage in these “temporary-recycle” dumpsters.

Both Ramstein and Vogelweh recycling centers will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
For Christmas tree disposal, an extra dumpster will be provided at both recycling centers from Dec. 24 through Jan. 15. For details, call CE customer service at 489-7703 or 0631-536-7703

Holiday decorations
Family housing residents may display exterior decorations according to these rules: Decorations may be displayed 30 days prior to the event and should be removed within 10 days following that date.

Do not run an extension cord through doors or windows. Ensure the cord is rated for exterior use.

Do not utilize portable transformers outside your housing unit. Use only special clips designed for hanging exterior decorations on homes. These clips are available in the exchange and off-base at garden centers. Do not place decorations on your roof.
