The Ramstein Area Chief’s Group recently awarded a coveted Sharp Award to Airman 1st Class Nikol Brown, Headquarters USAFE A4/7 Director Support Staff. Airman Brown was presented the award on behalf of Chief Master Sgt. Dirk McDowell, who nominated her based on her exceptional standards of dress and appearance, prompt customer service and relentless work ethic.

“Airman Brown always looks ‘sharp’ in her military uniform, displays a very upbeat and friendly attitude when dealing with customers and, regardless of the task, gets it finished in an extremely timely and professional manner,” said Chief McDowell. “It is a pleasure for the entire staff to have an Airman assigned of this caliber who literally sets the standard for other Airmen to emulate.”

Airman Brown is a Knowledge Operations Apprentice who enlisted in the Air Force in April 2006.  She has been assigned to Ramstein since August 2006. As part of the SHARP Award package, she received a plaque, coin and certificates on behalf of the Chiefs’ Group as well as a $200 savings bond and discount certificate from Pentagon Car Sales.

The underground pipeline that runs through the forested area between Burger King and Ramstein High School (north of Kisling Drive) will be under construction from Monday through Oct. 30. The pipeline’s right-of-way through the forest is typically used by housing residents, walkers and joggers but during the repair, some parts of the path will be inaccessible.

Pedestrians should remain vigilant for construction traffic on the forest roads and keep their distance from the construction site during the repair. Address any questions to the 435th CES Project Management Section at 480-6486.
