MAINZ — Minister of the Interior Roger Lewentz awarded Lt. Gen. Randall Reed, Third Air Force and Kaiserslautern Military Community commander, with the Willkommen in Rheinland-Pfalz Appreciation Award 2022 award (WiR!) for his excellent engagement and strengthening transatlantic relations within the State of Rheinland-Pfalz.

“The award presented today is a token of appreciation rewarded, as a rule, to individuals who demonstrate a practical approach with their engagement to maintain and further develop an open and cordial German-American neighborhood in Rheinland-Pfalz,” said Lewentz. “As commander of the Third Air Force and the Kaiserslautern Military Community, Lt. Gen. Reed has remained to be an active practical promoter, even in his higher function. It is especially important to me to personally thank him for his tireless dedication towards a transatlantic friendship and his extraordinary role model function.”

The WiR! Award is a part of the Willkommen in Rheinland-Pfalz! — Our neighbors from America (WiR!) program and is presented once a year to a representative of the U.S. Forces who fosters an especially active German-American relationship. The WiR! Program is coordinated by the Atlantic Academy on behalf of the Minister of the Interior.
