Unless the Air Force meets its fiscal year 2007 officer force shaping goal through the voluntary separation pay program by March 31, remaining losses will be achieved through an officer Reduction in Force board in June.

The board will consider officers with more than six to exactly 12 years total active federal military service in overage career fields, in the Total Federal Commissioned Service Date 1995-1998, 2000 and 2001 year groups.

Specific eligibility rules apply, but in general the board will not consider officers with less than one year time in grade as of the board convening date (June 11), on a promotion list, or in balanced or shortage career fields (by TFCSD year group).

Officers selected for separation by the board are to be notified in August and will be required to separate no later than Jan. 29, 2008.
