Officers’ club lunch buffet: the best buffet in town

The Ramstein Officers’ Club’s all-you-can-eat buffet is a great place to get American home-style cooking. There are also a variety of different dishes, including Mexican, barbecue and seafood.

The buffet is $8.95 for members and $10.95 for non-members. The buffet includes a complete salad bar, four meats, two vegetables, two starches, a soup station with two different types of soup and chili, a dessert bar and a beverage choice of tea or water.

Tony Mace, the head lunch buffet cook, goes to the states once per year to bring back ingredients, such as special hot sauces for the Mexican buffet that takes place on Wednesdays.

Office staffs that have working lunches or lunch meetings can be set up in a separate dining room while still being able to enjoy the buffet.

“Many people on base have short lunch breaks. Eating here provides healthier options and they can be in and out within 20 minutes,” said Timothy Hay, club manager.

If you pay with your club membership card, you are eligible to receive a punch with the 86th Services Squadron punch card. After eight punches, you can turn in the punch card and receive $25 worth of services bucks.

“I eat here about four times per week because it’s always good, quick and convenient. It’s the best deal on base, especially for members,” said Col. Rodney Phoenix, 86th Dental Squadron.

The lunch buffet is open from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Military members of all ranks and branches, civilian personnel and dependents are able to enjoy the lunch buffet.

The Ramstein Officers’ Club hosts several events throughout the year and does catering.
