More than 300 Airmen participated in the full range of competitions during Ramstein’s inaugural Oktober Fun Fest Oct. 21.

“We received a lot of positive feedback from several participants and the 86th Airlift Wing leadership,” said Senior Master Sgt. Joel Steele, Oktober Fun Fest coordinator.
One of the events, the Amazing Race, was a challenge mentally and physically.

“It was tough, but we focused on each clue, figured out where we needed to go next and pushed through,” said Staff Sgt. Michael Davis, tan team lead. Participants of Oktober Fun Fest were able to use some of their military training in competitions like capture the flag using paintballs. Others choose a more relaxing competition like golf.

“Our committee hosted eight team-building activities,” Steele said. “Participation for the inaugural event was excellent.”

Attendees also had the chance to win prizes. An iPad 2 was given away along with other door prizes and the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas was awarded a check for $500.
