Outstanding Airmen from Lajes Field recognized as Airlifters of the Week

LAJES AIR FIELD, Azores A 65th Air Base Group Logistics Readiness Squadron Traffic Management non-commissioned officer in charge and a 65th Force Support Flight information and referral assistant both received the honor of being Airlifters of the Week, Jan.30 at Lajes Air Field, Azores.

Traffic Management NCOIC, Staff Sgt. Kevin Zuva, is credited for his work in quality assurance operations. Zuva, an Indianapolis, Indiana, native, conducted 100 percent on-site inspections for four shipping carrier evaluations and eight household goods inspections. He exceeded Air Force Instruction and United States Department of Agriculture inspection requirements by over 50 percent.

Additionally, Zuva expedited six individuals’ requests for emergency leave less than 24 hours after the Red Cross notification. He is also credited for briefing and educating 48 personnel on the Permanent Change of Station transition.

Information and Referral Assistant, Mrs. Elisabete Silva, is acknowledged as AOTW after excelling in the role of Contracting Officer’s Representative for the Airmen and Family Readiness Center. Silva was also lauded for her excellent work as the Casualty Assistance Liaison. She is recognized as an integral part of the Force Support Flight through her management of multiple programs within the Flight.
