***image1***The Kaiserslautern Pikes American Football Team, which holds three division championship titles, is looking for new American team members.

The focus this year is linebackers and running backs that can also play defensive back, however all interested players are welcome.

The second half of winter training continues Saturday, and will take place at 8 p.m. every following Monday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the season begins.

The 2008 season begins at the end of March with pre-season games and the official season is scheduled to begin April 12.

Winter training/practice is conducted indoor and consists of sprint training and football fundamentals. It is during this time that starters are primarily picked. Interested players should bring running shoes (no cleats), a towel and something to drink. Shorts and T-shirt are appropriate for this training. Pads are not necessary for winter training.

If you are interested in playing for the city of Kaiserslautern but are unsure of practice locations, e-mail p.rinaldo@pikesnet.de or call Phill Rinaldo at 0162-205-4216. For more information, visit www.pikesnet.de and click on ‘English’  for information.
