While participating in Thracian Summer 18, a bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Bulgaria, Wolber oversaw operations as mission commander. During the exercise, Wolber maintained and exercised oversight on support and operations during Thracian Summer to ensure objectives were met.

Knighten and Smith supported Thracian Summer 18 by configuring pallets to be used in airdrop training missions to maintain qualifications for 37th Airlift Squadron aircrew members. Thracian Summer is a bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Bulgaria.
