The Air Force Sergeants Association is sponsoring the 2nd Annual POW/MIA 24-hour Vigilance Run. The Vigilance Run is a continuous 24-hour run honoring and recognizing the sacrifices of America’s POWs and MIAs – those returned and those still missing due to foreign conflict.

AFSA is looking for runners, day and night, so shift workers can participate as well. Seasoned runners are needed to make the last run, which will start at Ramstein and end at the retreat ceremony on Kapaun.

Each runner will run for half-hour intervals but can sign up for multiple intervals throughout the event. Runners will pass the POW/MIA flag to the next runner, in relay fashion, signifying that we will never stop searching for our fallen comrades.

The run will begin in front of the Northside Fitness Center at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and end at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15. The final runners will terminate the run at the retreat ceremony at the NCO Academy on Kapaun.

Please come out and show your support for this special event. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Staff Sgt. Shawna Broussard-Jones at 0151-1875-2578 or e-mail shawna.jones@ramstein.af.mil.(Courtesy of the Air Force Sergeants Association)
