Col. Earl Matthews, 435th Air Base Wing commander, meets and greets families at the Project Care dinner July 26 at the Kapaun Air Station Dining Facility. The event was attended by 125 family members and was the first time the Airman & Family Readiness Center offered “Celebrating with You” to honor those birthdays and anniversaries that often take place during the course of a deployment. Also in attendance were several squadron commanders, a chaplain, volunteers and A&FRC staff members. Project Care is a program designed to provide support to the family members of deployed Air Force personnel.  Each month, the A&FRC teams up with another base organization to provide an event that is entirely free for the spouses and family members of deployed.  Past events included family dinners and picnics, free skating, bowling and movie. The next Project Care event will be a family picnic 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at  Donnelly Park on Ramstein.
