As the season changes, Department of Defense personnel living in the KMC must remain alert and aware. Your practices for good operations security at home should be the same as those in your workplace. With the rise in temperature, there is an increase in the number of solicitors in our villages and neighborhoods.

Here are tips to reduce the chances your home will be burglarized:
• Consider mounting motion lights outside your home in order to deter a would-be thief.
• Always lock doors and windows — rollladens can be opened from the outside and are not considered a way to safeguard your home.
• Request your landlord to install an alarm system in your home.

Everyone should remain alert and engaged in their neighborhoods; participating in Neighborhood Watch programs is a great way for you to get to know your neighbors and keep your area safe.
Maintaining a higher level of awareness makes everyone a “harder” target for any type of criminal activity.
