Raheem DeVaughn comes to Ramstein

Grammy nominated R&B icon Raheem DeVaughn will perform for the KMC at the Ramstein Enlisted Club Monday. The show will be headed up by Armed Forces Entertainment and the 86th Services Squadron.

Raheem DeVaughn is an American singer and songwriter. DeVaughn was nominated for Best R&B Song “Customer” at the 2009 Grammy Awards. He was also nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 2008 Grammy Awards for the single “Woman”.

DeVaughn has been compared to Dwele, Van Hunt, D’Angelo, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. DeVaughn has described himself as an “R&B hippie neo-soul rock star.”

“Military members enjoy when entertainers come to Ramstein because it makes them feel like they are being thought of even though they are not in the states. It’s great that so many entertainers come to show their thanks and appreciation to the troops,” said Christine Radvanyi, Club E entertainment assistant. Raheem’s seven day tour will also entertain American troops at various locations in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and is open to everyone ages 18 and older. After the show there will be a special autograph session.

Armed Forces Entertainment hosts over 1,200 shows around the world each year, reaching over 500,000 personnel at 270 military installations. Entertainment has long been one of the biggest morale boosters for US military personnel serving overseas.
