Ramstein celebrates 4th with Freedom Fest

For more than 20 years the KMC has been hosting 4th of July events, but only now have they escalated to this magnitude with the 2005 Freedom Fest and a 4th of July Field Day.

The Freedom Fest is Saturday through Monday at Ramstein’s Ramp 6 and attendees can expect a full-blown amusement park, while Sembach host the field day on Monday.

There are activities for all ages at this year’s Freedom Fest, as areas such as the Kiddie Cool Tent and the Teen Tent will make their fest debuts. There will also be the Fest Test in which people can enjoy live entertainment for the duration of the fest.

The fun officially begins when all carnival rides and stations open at noon Saturday. Rides range from the Twister to the merry-go-round. All typical carnival games can be found, including the bash a car for a buck game, where participants pay a dollar to take a sledgehammer to a vehicle.

Exchange New Car Sales has a stage set up from noon to 6 p.m. every day where there are hourly prize drawings and disc jockey requests can be made.
