Ramstein, Spangdahlem Airmen remember the Wereth 11

Ramstein and Spangdahlem Airmen participate in a ceremony to commemorate the Wereth 11 March 24 in Wereth, Belgium. A permanent memorial stands in the exact location in the small village of Wereth where 11 African American soldiers were found tortured and executed by the Nazi SS. The 11 soldiers were a part of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion when they were separated during the Battle of the Bulge, and later captured by the Nazi SS. — Photo by Tech. Sgt. Sara Keller
