Ramstein to showcase digital artwork created by youth

Ramstein Youth Programs and the Boys & Girls Club of America will host its Club Tech Digital Arts Festival featuring art created by its members, ages 10 to18.
This year’s theme is “Nature of Design.”

“The Club Tech Digital Arts Festival is a great way for our members to express themselves artistically and showcase the technology skills they’ve gained through the club,” Kimberly O’Brien said. “It’s important our young people become tech-savvy and gain the skills needed to get into college and secure jobs. The digital arts program opens up the opportunity for our youth to try new things and potentially discover new career paths.”

The Digital Arts Festival competition is part of an ongoing international celebration of Ramstein Youth Programs and Boys & Girls Club members’ creativity and tech skills in areas of filmmaking, Web site development and graphic design.

Sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Microsoft and Best Buy Children’s Foundation, the contest falls under the Club Tech program, which aims at providing youth with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.
The categories of documentary movie and screenplay are due by Jan. 30. Web tech is due by Feb. 27 and design tech is due by March 27.
