Ramstein, USAGK honor children at Day for Kids

Ramstein and U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern ask all members to
celebrate the Boys & Girls Club of America Day for Kids and take the pledge to spend meaningful time together, to talk, to listen, to learn, to play, to share a moment, create a memory and make a kid’s day.

The Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America’s children by spending meaningful time with them. It’s about celebrating kids — children, grandchildren or any child in need of mentoring.
The Day for Kids fosters relationships between children and adults, which helps children develop positive self-image, sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose.
This year’s Day for Kids will be held Sept. 11 at Donnelly Park on Ramstein.
To begin the celebration, the Air Force Youth Sports opening day ceremonies will commence at 9 a.m. Immediately after the ceremonies, the Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids activities and games will be available, including bouncy castles, face
painting, and arts and crafts. Enjoy a free lunch with your child from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Every child needs a safe place to learn, grow, explore and have great mentors,” said Dorothy Choate, Airman and Family Services flight chief from the 86th Services Squadron. “Our children are special. They are the true heroes and today we want to invite the KMC youth and families to spend a meaningful day of play and celebrate being a kid.”
