Real property planning board

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz conducted its annual Real Property Planning Board March 22 at the Rheinlander Convention Center in the Baumholder Military Community. The board, attended by about 80 people in-person and virtually, acts as the installation “city planning council” for 50+ mission partners across the garrison’s 31 sites to ensure the orderly development and management of installation real property in support of missions, management processes, and achieving community objectives. From fiscal years 2023 through 2032, the garrison’s facility investment plan includes 337 projects valued at better than $2.8 billion. The RPPB also projected upcoming stationing movements in the garrison footprint and how those changes affect master planning. Maj. Gen. James Smith, commander, 21st Theater Sustainment Commander and the Army’s senior responsible officer for the region, and Tommy R. Mize, Installation Management Command-Europe Director, attended the event with Col. Reid E. Furman, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz commander, serving as host.Photo by Jason Tudor
