Regional Director coins fire inspectors for work protecting Afghans, support team for Operation Allies Welcome

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Fire Chief William M. Maciorowski talks to Installation Management Command-Europe Director Tommy Mize during a tour of the Sembach Kaserne firehouse, Oct. 5. Maciorowski provided an update on the latest activities of the garrison fire team and discussed the condition of the Sembach facility. The tour lasted about 30 minutes.

Inspectors Scherer and Barz have provided continuous support to OAW by conducting daily fire inspections of all the temporary lodging facilities on Rhine Ordnance Barracks for the 10,000+ travelers who have made the post a temporary home.

Scherer and Barz’s daily fire inspections directly contribute to ensuring a fire safe environment for all the temporary residents by keeping fire exits and emergency vehicle access routes clear, ensuring smoke detectors are in place, and enforcing no smoking areas.
