Ramstein Middle School congratulates sixth-grader Ramon Padua Jr. (center) on winning the 2017 RMS Spelling Bee Feb. 14. Jake Mashburn (left) finished as runner-up and Alexis Childs (right) took third place. The spelling bee was sponsored by the Parent Teacher Student Association. Official pronouncer Dr. Dennis Osborne noted, “In an intense battle to the finish, two well-prepared RMS spellers exhausted all the study list words before Ramon Padua bested Jake Mashburn with the combination of aplomb, maudlin and finally reminisce.”
