Rockin’ 4th celebration events announced

***image1***Ramstein’s Rockin’ 4th celebration is noon to 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Ramp 6.

The event will feature two entertainment stages, games, contests, fireworks and more.

The fest tent stage will feature KMC Idol Talent Contest preliminaries at 1 p.m. Armed Forces Entertainment presents the band Matt Poss & the Wild Bunch at 4 p.m. followed by Rockin’ Carbonara at 6 p.m., KMC Idol Talent Contest finals at 7 p.m., Badfish at 8 p.m., The JomTones at 9 p.m. and Beau2ful at 11 p.m.

The family stage will feature an Irish dance demonstration at 1 p.m. followed by a Tae Kwon Do demonstration at 1:30 p.m. and a dog show at 2 p.m. The Frankfurt Galaxy National Football League Europe Football Team cheerleaders perform at 4 p.m. followed by an autograph session.

***image5***Games and contests are scheduled for the afternoon and include a water balloon toss, watermelon eating, whipped cream pie eating, watermelon seed spitting and other events. Radar gun and dunk tank stations will operate all afternoon. Games include balloon darts, fishing game, ping pong ball toss and more.

Food venues from KMC private organizations will serve hot dogs and hamburgers as well as a wide variety of other food including teriyaki chicken, flammkuchen, schwenk steaks and more.

The Youth Inflation Station operates from noon to dusk with bouncy castles, obstacle courses, a boxing ring, Sumo wrestling suits and face painters. A mechanical bull will be available for free rides.

Static aircraft displays include a C-21, C-130 and an F-16 Thunderbird from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Thunderbird pilots and crew will also be available for autographs.
The fireworks show will begin at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The Ramstein Enlisted Club will continue the Independence Day celebration with an after party in J.R. Rockers. A pool tournament will be held and an American breakfast will be served starting at midnight. The Armedforces Against Drunk Driving designated driver program will have courtesy rides available.
