The Ramstein American High School four-day Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadet Orientation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21 in the JROTC building at the school.

The program will teach Ramstein students who want to join, or who are thinking about joining, the JROTC program, basic lessons of drill, ceremonies, customs and courtesies taught to first year cadets in JROTC classrooms. The Cadet Orientation will prepare students for their new experience in the JROTC program. Students wishing to join JROTC will be promoted to the temporary cadet rank of Airman for the first quarter of the school year based on attendance, academics, and recommendations by the cadet instructors.

Students will be divided into three flights, each led by a two or three year cadet flight commander. Cadets will learn about the JROTC program and the Air Force.

RAHS re-registration, orientation and tours
All returning Ramstein American High School students for the school year 2006-07 need to be re-registered if they have not already done so, school officials said.

Registration hours are 9 to 11 a.m and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

Students or parents who have questions can call the school registrar at 480-7640 or 06371-47-7640.

New student orientation and tours will be Aug. 24. Freshmen are invited at 9:30 a.m.; sophomores, juniors and seniors at 10:30 a.m. There will be a BBQ from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for all new students.

Vogelweh Elementary School hosts a new family orientation at 1 p.m. Aug. 25.

LEMS hosts new comers orientation, BBQ
Landstuhl Elementary and Middle School is hosting a “New Comers Orientation” Aug. 23 in the school gym: 1 p.m. for elementary students and families; 2 p.m. for middle school students and families. On Aug. 25, the Landstuhl Elementary and Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association will host a “Back to School BBQ” from 4 to 6 p.m. in the school courtyard.

KAMS host BBQ for new students
Kaiserslautern American Middle School will host a BBQ for new students and their parents from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 24.
