***image1***Even landlubbers will want to swim into the Defense Commissary Agency, Europe, seafood road shows which begin Saturday at the Ramstein Commissary and continue for selected dates and stores into mid-October.

David Costello, manager of the Central Meat Processing Plant at Ramstein, will lead a team to eight commissaries in Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy. A variety of seafood products will be offered at up to 49 percent savings.

Products offered will be king crab legs and claws, slipper lobster tail, tiger shrimp, Atlantic salmon fillets, tilapia fillets, catfish fillets, tuna steak and bay scallops. Some items will be offered loose and weighed to order, while others will be offered in pre-weighed commercial packages.

Bringing a “surf and turf” flavor to the show will be Angus top loin roasts sold at cost. This choice product, along with at least one seafood product per show will be available for tasting. Also available will be a selection of seafood recipes for customers to try at home.

The locations and dates of the road shows are as follows:

• Ramstein — Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m to 6 p.m.)
• Vogelweh — August 30 and 31

“This is the first time the seafood road shows have come to Europe,” said Thomas Milks, director of DeCA Europe. “They have been quite successful stateside, so we decided to test them in this theater. If they are well received by our customers, we will likely repeat the process. We strive to give our customers as many choices as possible in order to enhance their shopping experience and maximize the benefit.”
