Shake Your Booty for Child Abuse Prevention Month

by Capt. Erika Best

In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Month of the Military Child, the Family Advocacy Program, New Parent Support Program, Airman and Family Services, and Youth Services have teamed up to offer a one-of-a-kind family event.

“Shake Your Booty, Not Your Baby” will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. April 22 in the Ramstein Elementary School gymnasium. The event will include limbo and “freeze dance” for the younger children, games, prizes, educational booths for parents, and more.

Do you think your family has some great moves? Enter them in the family dance competition. Families are invited to submit their name and song choice to Shirley.donaldson1@ramstein.af.mil by April 7. Each family will perform at “Shake Your Booty” for a panel of judges, and the winning family will receive a gift certificate from the United Service Organizations to plan a family getaway.

For more information on services available in the KMC to support families, visit the educational booths and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a new iPod.
This family event is supported by USO, 100% Fun, First Sergeants Council, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, and the Ramstein Officer Spouses’ Club.
