Unit Level Flag Football Program
Does your Active Duty Company/Battery/Troop & Detachment Level Unit have what it takes to be the best in Kaiserslautern? Gather your team to have no more than 16 players — head coach and assistant coach will be counted as players — and submit your letter of intent no later than Aug. 12 to ROB Fitness Center Sports Office. Coaches meeting will be held the same day, (Aug. 12) at the ROB Fitness Center at 6:30 p.m. Games will be held at the KAD Sports Field starting Aug. 27 and ending Oct. 10. Fall Youth Sports Registration
Youth sports will be offering soccer, cross country, volleyball, flag football, cheerleading, dodgeball and tackle football. The age for each sport varies from 5-15 years old. Practices are offered on both Landstuhl and Sembach. Registration is open from June 1 to July 19 or when teams become full. Please note a current sports physical must be on file at time of sign up, no exceptions and must be valid through Nov. 15. Register on WebTrac, in person or over the phone. Start Smart Fall Registration
Youth Sports will be offering Start Smart Soccer & Flag Football for children ages 3 to 4 during the fall sports season. Start Smart is not a team sport but rather a parent-child interactive program, led by a CYS staff member. Registration is open from June 1 to July 19. Sessions for flag football will begin in August, followed by soccer in early September with both being offered on Landstuhl and Sembach. Price is $25 per child. USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Sports and Fitness Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider
USAG RP Youth Sports and Fitness has been awarded the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Earning the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program designation demonstrates that USAG RP Youth Sports and Fitness has taken steps to ensure a safe and quality playing environment for children. USAG RP Youth Sports and Fitness has proven it meets key requirements in five categories — Written Policies and Procedures, Volunteer Screening, Coach Training, Parent Education and Accountability. Women’s Soccer
The KMC District USYS Women’s Soccer team is looking for players. The team is coached by a professionally licensed German soccer player, and meets Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. just outside RAB in Schwedelbach. Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a martial art and combat sport of attack and defense in which competitors wear boxing gloves and throw punches as in boxing and kick with their bare feet as in Karate and many other martial arts. Kickboxing is a combination of combat techniques; self-defense sport, exercise and philosophy. The art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance using the legs’ greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance. It is not only kicking and boxing, but a way of thinking and living. The main goal in kickboxing is to achieve total body physical fitness through proper training. Available for ages 6+. Soccer for girls
The Kottweiler-Schwanden Sports Club is looking for girls born in the years 2006 up to 2010 for its youngest girls’ soccer team. The sports club has four girls’ teams and two women’s teams. They are also looking for new players. This is the opportunity to get involved in a German soccer club playing with German and American girls. Coaches are all able to speak English.
