Youth soccer

U.S. Youth Soccer KMC District Soccer will offer to experience soccer in the German Football Association (DFB).  They are offering opportunities for boys and girls, 5 to 19 years old, and a men’s team. Players will train with professional and licensed coaches. The 10-month season consists of competitive league play, international camps and tournaments. Matches will not conflict with American holidays. This U.S. Youth Soccer affiliation allows for even more training opportunities, like the Olympic Developmental program. The FV Olympia Ramstein Soccer Club is looking for male and female players born in 2003/2004.  Practice takes place 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday on the artificial turf pitch at Am Hocht 1 in Ramstein village. Soccer for girls

The Kottweiler-Schwanden Sports Club is looking for girls born in the years 2005 up to 2008 for its youngest girls’ soccer team. The sports club has three girls’ teams and two women’s teams. They are also looking for new players. This is the opportunity to get involved in a German soccer club playing with German and American girls. Coaches are all able to speak English. Sweetheart Challenge 5K Fun Run/Walk

On Feb. 24, run on your own or grab a partner for the Sweetheart Challenge 5K Run/Walk! Partners consist of any combination of two people who start and finish the run together. The first pair of partners who cross the finish line will receive a prize! Open to all ages. You won’t want to miss this fun, family event! Run begins at 9 a.m. Same day registration held from 8-9 a.m. Registration fee: $8. First 100 participants who register will receive a t-shirt! Start Smart Baseball & Soccer Registration

Start Smart Baseball & Soccer Registration kicked off on Feb. 1. Start Smart is not a traditional team sports program, but rather a developmental program to introduce young children to sports. While it is led by a CYS staff member, the program encourages lots of interaction between parent and child. For ages 3-4. Registration is open until Feb. 28 or until spaces are filled. Senior Soccer Registration

Senior Soccer Registration kicked off on Feb. 1. Senior soccer is for high school students ages 16-18. This new age group has been added to benefit students who did not get the opportunity of being placed on the high school team. The program is designed to improve foot skills and further develop Technique. Registration is open until Mar. 31 or until teams are full. Sign-up by phone, in person or on Webtrac. To note, teen must have a current sports physical to participate. Cost: $45.
