CYSS spring sports registration

Registration for Child, Youth and School Services spring sports is open Monday through Feb. 26. Sports available are: golf, ages 8 to 15; track and field, ages 8 to 15; tennis, ages 8 to 15; soccer, ages 5 to 15; t-ball, coach pitch, baseball and softball, ages 5 to 15 ; and bambino baseball and soccer, ages 3 to 4. Sports season begins in April. Practices are held on Landstuhl and Sembach. USAG Rheinland-Pfalz volleyball

Bump! Set! Spike! The U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz men’s and women’s community volleyball teams are looking for experienced players to compete in the 2016 U.S. Forces Europe volleyball season. Sweetheart Challenge 5K Run/Walk

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Sweetheart Challenge 5K Run/Walk at 10 a.m. Feb. 13. Sign up individually or as partners. Your “sweetheart” may be anyone you like spouse, significant other, friend, family member, etc. There will be two obstacles that must be completed as a couple in order to win the “partner prize.” Registration will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. On the day of the event at the Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. Combatives Invitational

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Sports and Fitness will host a Combatives Invitational at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at Kleber Fitness Center. Registration and weigh-in will be from 8 to 9:15 a.m and a coaches meeting from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Open to all active duty service members (male and female), ages 18 and older. Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category and overall. Free for participants; $5 spectator fee for ages 12 and older. Landstuhl Falcons baseball

Dream about playing baseball again? Join the Landstuhl Falcons Baseball Club. Part of the Deutscher Baseball und Softball Verband and Suedwestdeutschen Baseball und Softballverbandes, the Landstuhl Falcons are a travel team and the only American team in the German league. The Falcons are also looking for two traveling umpires and a scorekeeper. Must be 18 or older. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes

SKIESUnlimited now offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in three different levels: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Juniors, ages 3 to 4 years old; Little Grapplers, ages 5 to 17 years old; and Bully Busters, ages 8 to 13 years old. Each level teaches basic non-violent self-defense techniques while instilling the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu foundational principles of leverage and control. Open to all branches of service.
